
Orla Chennaoui
Orla Chennaoui is Sky News’ Olympics Correspondent, based in London, covering all aspects of the build-up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Orla began her career at Scotland on Sunday, before moving into broadcast at 2 Ten FM in Reading.
Orla then progressed to TV as a broadcast journalist at Meridian Television in Southampton, before becoming a reporter and newsreader at Scotland Today.
Orla joined Sky News as Northern Ireland Correspondent in 2006 and covered stories such as the Omagh bombing trial, the murder of former IRA member and British spy Dennis Donaldson, and the historic power sharing agreement which finally concluded the peace process in Northern Ireland.
Orla moved to the Sky News Centre in London in 2007, and since then has covered the trial of serial killer Levi Bellfield, the 21/7 terror trials, the Iranian sailor hostage siege and the intense diplomatic furore over 'Mohammad' the Sudanese teddy bear.
Orla stepped into a presenter role during the Lebanon war which saw her front all programmes on Sky News from Sunrise to News at Ten.
Orla grew up in Draperstown in Northern Ireland and studied Law with French at Queen's University Belfast and Rennes University in France. She completed her postgraduate degree in Journalism at Napier University, Edinburgh.
Orla currently divides her family time between Ireland, France and Morocco.
