
Amanda Walker
Amanda is Sky News' Russia Correspondent. Appointed in May 2009, Amanda is based in Moscow and reports from across Russia and Eastern Europe. She has reported on a number of stories from the region including the Russian express train crash in 2009 and on a Russian neo-nazi murder squad.
In her previous UK-based role, as News Reporter, Amanda covered stories such as the disappearance of Madeleine McCann for Sky News, managing to secure an exclusive interview with one of the suspects at the time, as well as being sent further afield for the 2009 Oscars in L.A.
Prior to Sky, Amanda worked as an on the road reporter for LBC, where she covered the Soham murders, the general election coverage in 2005, and the 7/7 bombings, for which she received accolades in the Observer and in the Independent. Amanda has also reported from Tanzania for nationwide Live 8 coverage, Poland for the Auschwitz memorial and special reporting in Rwanda.
Amanda studied English literature, followed by a post graduate diploma in Broadcast journalism, and enjoys travelling, reading, running and cycling.
